At St Jude’s we believe “Children are children for such a short time”.

Children are unique individuals and active contributors in the environment.

Our aim is to provide an educational, safe, secure and challenging environment for each child, complementing the home by providing stability, warmth and friendship.

Children are supported to be successful, competent and capable individuals who learn through play, exploration and participation.

Equity, inclusion and diversity underpin our program and supports all children to connect with nature and help create a sustainable future.

Our program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, Being, Belonging and Becoming and incorporates the United Nations Rights of the Child.

As Early Childhood Educators we strive to make strong connections with children and support their holistic development.

We recognise the vital importance of the first five years in a child’s life.

We value family in all forms and endeavour to foster strong relationships based on respect and trust.

We value cultural and linguistic diversity and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the traditional custodians of the land, particularly the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the traditional custodians of this place we now call Sydney.

The context of the centre is a caring and Christian community within St Jude’s dating back to the early formation of Randwick.
